Two Years
If I had to jot down a line graph representing how my musical knowledge grows, it would have steep peaks, followed by plateaus of variable length. During the flat periods, I incessantly play the same 15 songs I have discovered in the antecedent weeks. I will only leave the comfort of what I’ve already established to be good if I sense the new stuff could be equal or superior.

If there were light, it’d be beautiful
Every morning, Antonio Spiriticchio, florist, drove his van to a corner in the centre of Rome, where he’d set up his mobile flower shop. But on the morning of the 16th of March, 1978, Spiriticchio didn’t show up at his usual spot at the usual time. To his dismay, overnight, all four of his van’s tires had been slashed. In the meantime, at the corner where Spiriticchio normally would have been plying his wares, seven men and four women, all members of the far-left guerrilla group Red Brigades, were committing a crime that went on to define one of the darkest chapters of Italian history: the kidnapping of former prime minister Aldo Moro.
Profile: Ellie Bleach
Ellie’s EP is written from the perspective of a series of characters that share an aura of hope and disillusion, all somewhat struggling with the conundrum that is taking oneself seriously. “I think, when putting together the songs that I wanted to include in the EP, a theme emerged without me realising it”, Ellie explains. “A lot of the songs have to do with success and failure, a kind of wanting and striving for something. And a lot of them have to do with showbuisness.”

Bee Bee Sea have the mischievous look of those students who purposely sit at the back of the class so they can escape the teacher’s surveying eyes and do whatever they want. They arrived at the studio one morning last spring, late. The first thing they did was have a coffee, the second was argue amongst themselves over a miscommunication about their plans for the afternoon. Of course, that made us love them even more than we already did.
